fedoradude  > Journalism > Other cool pictures
These are various pics I took through the years. Some were taken while chasing police calls. (Back in those days I used Pentax gear; an ME Super and a K1000.) Other pictures are obviously at given events or happenings. Several are film prints that I've scanned in.

fedoradude > One hot building fire. It was wintertime, but I was sweating this close to the flames.
fedoradude > This looks like a car that has been hit with a few shotgun blasts, doesn't it? These guys were robbing grocery store service desks. As they were having the clerks clean out the cash drawers, they had them clean ALL the cash drawers out - even the one for the postal services. So the postal inspectors flushed these guys out on a stakeout one night. The ensuing gunbattle resulted in all these .44 caliber bulletholes in the back of the suspects' vehicle. (The only shotgun pattern is on the RH hatchback post - you can see the small grouping. The rest are individual .44 caliber round impact holes.)

Moral to the story; don't mess with the post office. They're worse than Dr. Johnny Fever's dreaded "phone cops!"

fedoradude > The potential in "hot pursuit."
fedoradude > This picture was taken in 1986 when Lynette Woodard played with the Globe Trotters.
fedoradude > This is one of my favorite sports pictures I've ever taken. This little boy hobbling along on his crutches valiantly competing as best he could in the race really moved me. The word "determination" springs to mind whenever I look at this photo.

fedoradude > This photo and the 2 that follow are of the April 26, 1991 tornado that hit Haysville, Wichita and Andover, Kansas. This tornado took 13 lives that day. These photos were taken from my front yard in south Wichita. Tornado got within about 1/4-1/2 mile away from my house. Photos were taken with a Pentax ME Super on ISO 400 film and these are scans of those pictures.
