Grace Lutheran Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma
...is probably THE most beautiful church I've visited in the U.S. to date.
"Grace Lutheran Church is not like your usual Church.
"Many churches features stage lights and contemporary music.
"Grace Lutheran does not.
"Grace Lutheran’s worship is reverent. It is saramental. It’s ancient.
"[Martin] Luther and the Reformers would recognize our worship forms.
"Generations of Christians going back to the martyrs of the Roman Empire would recognize our worship too.
"When we gather here, we are in the presence of the Triune God. We believe that the Body and Blood of Christ are physically present when we celebrate communion. Our worship is not “relaxed” and “casual” for we are in the presence of the Holy and Mighty God.
“'Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God Painting no frame--acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.' (Hebrews 12:28-29 ESV)
"This is not to say our worship should be somber. It should be joyful! While we are in the presence of the 'consuming fire' of God, we are not consumed, for our God has saved us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! We are His people, bought at a price, and have been invited into His Presence now and forever."
