At the Grand Canyon. I never really understood the attraction to this place until I saw it for myself.
One of the funniest things I saw on the Flintstones cartoons was when they went to see the Grand Canyon. It was just a little trickle of water. Barney Rubble said, "Hmm! Big deal!" Fred said, "Well, of course it doesn't look like much now, but give it a few million years!"
Standing on the rim of the Canyon, I started looking at the rim of the far wall and followed it down, down, down, down, down, down until finally seeing the Colorado River WAY, WAY down at the bottom of the Canyon. Gives one a real impression of just how deep, how wide and how marvelous the Grand Canyon really is. And how many million years it took for that little trickle of water to cut that great big canyon out of Mother Earth.
